Copying a field value to another field can be incredibly useful for automating processes and ensuring data consistency. It ensures that information entered in one field is automatically populated in another, reducing the chance of errors or discrepancies.
To pass a field value to another field
- In the Form Builder, go to Settings at the top.
- Select Conditions on the left.
- Add a new Update/Calculate Field condition.
- On the next page, set DO to Copy Field Value.
- Configure your condition rules, then select Save at the bottom.
In this example form, the condition is as follows:
- IF: Personal Email
- STATE: Is Filled
- DO: Copy Field Value
- FROM: Personal Email
- TO: Business Email
You can copy values between various field types, such as text boxes, email fields, or address fieldsets. This flexibility allows you to tailor your forms to specific use cases.

Hi there, I'd just like to add my voice to the comment from Griffin below about the need for populating an answer list based on the selections made at an earlier question. This is what I am also trying to do and thought Jotform would have this functionality. The workaround of using multiple dropdowns would require way too much set up when duplicated across multiple questions throughout a form. It would be good if Jotform would consider adding conditional logic for variables rather than just fields. Thank you

Will it work with Configurable List?
I've tried to do exactly what you've described but it won't work.

Hi! I am trying to take a selection from a product list and use the selected values to populate a dropdown list, so that if a user selects three products then those three products will appear in a dropdown list later.
Please see my jotform for what I'm trying to do:

How about if I have a Checklist of email addresses?
Say
Approver Emails (Multiple Choice Question)
x abc@email.com
x bbc@email.com
x cbc@email.com
x list of emails
.
.
.
So IF any email is checked, that email is copied to another field (Seems HAS to be Email Field ONLY, because only an Email Field enable itself to be chosen for further actions - Namely send the approval emails to the chosen Approvers) - How to construct this? Or not possible atm?
I had error:
IF more than 1 emails are checked, multiple emails will be copied to the designed field (but not one

Can you conditionally collate multiple field values into one organized long text field or paragraph? Thanks.

WHen a field has multiple fields, such as a Product Order, there is a strange phenomena:
In the 'condition' it lists all the subfields of MyProducts,
but in the action or calculation there is no way to reference these fields.
Is this a bug?
