Purpose of the Assessment

The purpose of the following assessment is for Vibe College to find out your English level so that you can be placed in a suitable class.

This test assesses your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. Please do the test without help from others or electronic translators.

Assessment Instructions:

1. Read all the questions carefully.
2. If you cannot answer a question, you can move to the next.
3. You can save and come back to the test at any time.
4. There are 4 sub-tests: listening, reading, writing and speaking
5. You can replay the audio files three (3) times only.
6. Check your answers carefully before submitting.
7. There are a total of 60 marks, including 15 marks for listening, 15 marks for reading, 15 marks for writing and 15 marks for speaking.

Things you need for the test:

1. Speakers or headphones for the Listening Test
2. A microphone set for Speaking Test
3. A device with a camera or your photo ready to upload.
4. Browser with the latest version of flash and stable internet connection.

LISTENING

Part 1 (5 marks)

Listen to the conversations and decide if statements 6-10 are True or False. There will be one question for each conversation.

Part 3 (5 marks)

HOW TO APPLY

Follow this step-by-step procedure for a smooth and efficient enrolment process.

Step 1: Student

Select from our range of courses and apply online.

Complete the form.

Attach required documents as outlined in the course requirements.

Step 2: Vibe College

Once we receive your online application we will assess your application against the requirement of the course.

Organise interview with candidate.

Verify financials.

If your application is successful we will issue you a letter of offer.

Step 3: Student

Once you receive the letter of offer we advise you to read the entire offer letter so you will be well informed of the course fees, duration, payment plan etc.

Make the required payment of tuition fee mentioned in the letter of offer.

Return signed acceptance of offer.

Step 4: Vibe College

Once we receive your payment and signed acceptance of offer, we will create an electronic confirmation of enrolment (eCOE) and send it back to you.

Step 5: Student

Once you receive the eCOE, you can apply for an Australian student visa at your nearest Australian High Commission.

Part 1 (3 marks)

3 questions of 1 mark: These questions will refer to basic information about yourself. Choose any three from the list, select the “Record” button and record a 10 second answer for each.

Part 2 (6 marks)

3 questions of 2 marks: These questions will refer to descriptive language about appearance and scenery. Choose any three from the list, select the “Record” button and record a 20 second answer for each.

• Describe your home.
• Describe your favourite place.
• Describe a good night out.
• Describe your best friend.
• Describe your job or your studies.
• Tell us about your favorite book or movie.
• What is your favorite food and why?
• Describe a tourist attraction in your city.

Part 3 (6 marks)

1 question of 6 marks: This is an extended answer question. Choose one question from the list, select the “Record” button and record a 60 second answer for ONE question only.

• Tell me why you would like to do your chosen course.
• What interests you about Australia?
• What problems might you encounter when travelling to or living in Australia?
• What do you expect will be the best thing about life in Australia for you?
