    Boa tarde,

    Hi Rebeca,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our Portuguese Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Portuguese, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, let me help you with your question. Prefilling your form using another form is easy. Let me show you how:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder, then click on Publish in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    2. Now, click on Prefill in the menu on the left side of the screen, and then select Form Prefill.
    3. Select the form that you want to prefill from, then choose the fields you want to take data from.
    4. Click on Save Settings, and that’s it.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

    Hi Wagas,

I understood how to do it, I tried to make it work but it didn't have the expected effect.

How will the jotform know which field it is to compare?

For example, in the Registration form, the phone number is 111111, the name is Jefferson and the street name is Big Apple.

I want that when filling out the Order form, when the client enters the phone number 111111, the jotform checks if this phone number already exists in the Registration form, if it exists, it fills in the next 2 questions, which would be name Jefferson and street name Big Apple, if it does not exist he leaves it blank and the client fills it in.

    did you understand?

    Hi Rebeca,

Thanks for getting back to us. Please keep in mind that it does work if user has already submitted their form before. If you add a link for a second form on the Thank You page, that will redirect people to the second form once the first form is submitted. Let me show you how to set that up:

    • In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
    • In the menu that opens on the left side of the page, click on Thank You Page.
    • Now, select Redirect to External Link and paste in the URL for the second form. That's it, you're done.

You can Prepopulate your form by adding a URL to the thank you page. Check out this guide on Prepopulating Form Fields via URL Parameters

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

    Waqas,

Thanks for the feedback, but this is not what I need.

Because my client will not respond to the 2 forms at the same time, they will respond to the Registration form and a few days later after his registration is approved he will respond to the Order form.

    Hi Rebeca,

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, you can add URL parameters to your email notification or autoresponder email. Whenever the user clicks on it, the form will auto-populate their name, email, or phone number. Check out this guide on How to Automatically Pass Form Data to Another Form.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.
