Now, coming back to your question, if you want to set the date field in the Configurable List Widget to the current date, all you need to do is add this ': today'. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Configurable List Widget, and click on the Wand icon.
2. Then, beside the Date field, add : today.
3. Finally, click on the Update Widget button at the bottom.
