How to add thousand and decimal separator

    Grata.

    Fico no aguardo

    Hi sp596imoveis,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our Portuguese Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Portuguese, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, coming back to your question. You can use the Mask Input widget to receive number inputs from the users. This widget has the option to set to receive numbers only, enter a prefix (ex. R$), decimal separator, and a thousand separator. Here's how to add the widget:

    1. On the Form Builder page, click on the Add Form Elements at the top navigation bar.
    2. On the Form Elements, go to the Widget tab.
    3. Select the Input Mask, it will open the Widget Settings on the right.
    4. On the Widget Settings, modify the settings accordingly, then click on the Update Widget button.

If you need to calculate these fields and display them in the same format, use the Form Calculation widget. The same thing, go to the Widgets tab, click on the Form Calculation widget to add, and the widget settings opens on the right. There's a Math Function that adds a thousand separators for a large number, and the Options at the bottom has the settings to add decimals.

    • Type in the prefix "R$" into the formula field.
    • To add the Comma Separator function, click on the Function icon at the lower right of the calculator keys, then select the function to add.
    • Place your cursor inside the parenthesis of the function, then click on the Add Field button, and select which form field to add into the formula.
    • Use the calculator keys to add mathematical operations (+, -, /, *).How to add thousand and decimal separator Image 2 Screenshot 41

    Olá, Lester!

    Grata pelo retorno!

Não compreendi muito bem. Acessei sua página teste, mas os separadores não seguem a configuração brasileira para milhar. R$2.500,00 está assim em seu formulário: R$2,500.00. Fiquei confusa.

Aguardarei um atendente em português. 🙏🏼

I've already forwarded your question to the Portuguese team, once there's an available Portuguese Support agent, they'll respond to the ticket. In the meantime, you can respond here with your questions. What should be the Brazilian configuration for thousands? Give us a sample and we will try to explain better.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

    Olá, Lesther!

Ponto e vírgula na separação do milhar.

    Ex:

Mil e quinhentos reais (por extenso)

    R$1.500,00

    Hi sp596imoveis,

Thanks for getting back to us. It seems you are looking to add comma separation which is already done by the demo shown by my colleague:

Please confirm if you are looking to replace the coma with the dot and the dot with the coma.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

Sim! Quero substituir a vírgula pelo ponto e o ponto pela vírgula.

    Hi sp596imoveis,

Thanks for getting back to us. It appears that you intend to use the field where a user can input a value, and the comma will be replaced by a dot, and the dot by comma. If that's the case, you can simply use the Masked Input widget to replace the short text on your form. Then, make the separtor to dot and the decimal separator to comma. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    2. Under the Widgets tab, enter Masked Input in the search bar, and drag and drop the widget to your form.
    3. Select your Masked Input's Wand icon to open the widget settings.
    4. Set the Prefix to R$ and the Thousandths Separator to dot and the Decimal Separtor to comma.

That's it! Let us know if you have any other questions.
