The Smart PDF Forms allows you to import a PDF form and create an online form out of that PDF. The Smart PDF Form builder works similarly to the regular Form Builder, you can add new fields to the form, but as an addition, you can link the fields to the original PDF. You can also update the original PDF when needed.
Assuming that you designed the form, selected a theme from our designer, and decided to keep the online form only, the Smart PDF Forms provides an option to disconnect the original PDF from the online form. Here’s how you can do that:
- In the Smart PDF Forms builder, go to the Settings tab.
- Under Form Settings, toggle the Original PDF connection to your Online Form to Off, and that’s it!
All options under the Original PDF Connection are also automatically disabled. You’ll also notice that the Upload tab is now gone, and you’ll only see the online form in the Build tab.
The original PDF is still in the background, and you can still turn on the PDF Connection when needed in the future.
Note
When you turn off the PDF Connection, there is no option to keep the original PDF as an attachment to the form emails. If you want to create a new separate PDF document for the submissions, you must do it through the PDF Editor. Please visit Applying Form Submission Data into a PDF document for more details.

How can I delete the original pdf file, instead of just unlinking from smart pdf forms.
