Why I am getting blank answers?

    Bonjour,

    J'ai créé un formulaire pour lequel je reçois une quantité anormale de réponses vides (pratiquement à tous les jours !). Comment cela est-il possible ?

I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in French, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

    Now, let me help you with your question. Upon checking on your form, the fields are not set up as required. This means the respondents can submit the form without answering the fields. Let me show you how to set the fields as required:

    • On the Form Builder, under the Build tab.
    • Navigate through the fields, and click the Gear icon.
    • On the General tab, toggle the Required option to the On position. You will see a small red asterisk (*) symbol on the field.

    In this way, the respondents cannot submit the form without answering the fields. Take a look at the screencast of the result below:

    J'ai choisi de ne pas créer de questions obligatoires pour laisser la pleine latitude aux gens de répondre ou non aux questions… Mais je vais changer les choses, selon votre proposition.

    J'ai appliqué les correctifs que vous avez mentionnés sur l'ensemble des questions, sauf pour la denière, qui propose de donner son courriel si la formation est intéressante pour la personne qui a répondu, et je reçois encore des formulaires vides.

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I am sorry you are having an issue with this. I've cloned your form and tested it, but I am not able to replicate the issue. I am able to receive all responses made on the form. Check out the screenshot of my results:

    Could you please provide us with the Submission ID where the issue has occurred for not receiving a response for the required fields?

    Meanwhile, I have cleared your form cache to refresh the form. Could also try it once again and see how it goes.

    I think You didn't understand the question, which was why am I receiving
    blank forms.
    The problem is not that I am not receiving a response. This is because the
    majority of responses received are unfilled forms

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I am sorry you are having an issue with this. I've cloned your form and tested it, but I am not able to replicate the issue. I've noticed that all the field on the forms is now required, this means that the form filler will need to fill out the form before they can submit it. Could you please confirm if the issue persists after making the fields required? Also, could you please share some screenshots of the issue, this will help us understand the issue better. This guide will show you how to do that.

    Once we hear back from you we can move forward with a solution.

    Thanks for getting back to us. I am sorry that you are receiving blank answers to most of your form fields. I can see that the most recent submission made on the form was dated September 3, 2023. I can also see that the submissions are mostly blank in the inbox.

    Do we have permission to test your actual form to see if the fields will show blank as well? If the form is embedded on a website, please share the link to your website, too.

    Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with the solution.

    I looked at those blank submissions and they were all submitted from the same IP:

    To prevent this, please set the unique submissions feature to check cookies and IP. This prevents you from receiving more than one submission from the same IP. Let me show you how to change that:

    • In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
    • In the Form Settings, scroll down to Show More Options and look for Unique Submissions.
    • Select your Check Cookies and IP. This is also called Strict Check, which means the form checks whether the submission came from the same browser and IP Address.
