Restore deleted submissions

Bonjour à l'équipe de Jotform !

Je me permets de vous contacter, car en désirant supprimé les formulaires du mois de Février, il semblerait que la totalité des formulaires aient étés supprimés en même temps, je souhaiterait donc récupérer tout les formulaires reçu à partir du 1er Mars 2023 si possible ?

Are you referring to submission data that were received on March 2023? If yes, when submission data is deleted in the last 30 days and if they are still on the tables trash entries, they can still be recovered. Please check the trash entries in your submission tables and if there are still submission data there, you can restore them. Here' s how:

1. In Jotform Tables, click the tab’s vertical ellipsis icon.
2. Choose Trashed entries from the menu.
3. Select the entries you want to recover then click Restore.

If they are no longer in the trash entries, I'm afraid they have been purged and sadly, we don't keep a record of them in our server. This means they are deleted permanently.

They have been deleted from the trash entries, i am trying to retrieve the submissions starting from March 1st.
Is there any backup that can be used to retrieve my submissions ?

Thanks for reaching back to us. There's no automatic backup of the purged submissions. Once they are purged in the trash, they are already deleted forever. I'm afraid there's no option for us to restore them anymore. In the future, if you receive substantial amount of submissions, you can download them as Excel, PDF of CSV so at least you have an external copy of the submissions. You can check this guide.

Alright, I find it very disturbing that you have no sort of backup for your servers. What happens if they crash and everything gets deleted ?

Thanks for reaching back to us. This is only applicable to submissions you explicitly deleted and purged. You take full management/control over your submission data. When you purge them, that's an indication that you are giving us permission to completely delete the data and so, we should not keep a copy of them in our system to comply with your request. You'll see this warning message when you purge a submission data:

If you're claiming that you have not done anything and it just gets deleted and purged by itself then we need to investigate it. Is that the case?

I did not have this message when i purged my entries, but i did purged them myself. The fact is that i only selected submissions from february 1st to febrary 28th and yet everything got deleted. I think the filter fonction did not work as intended and selected every submissions.

Thanks for reaching back to us and letting us know what have had happened. Unfortunately, we can only proceed with the investigation if you are sure that you have not deleted and purged the submissions. Once they are purged, they are removed in the server and no crumbs will be left to allow us to restore them.

I understand completely, one last question, you mentioned leaving no crumbs. I still have the submissions' email receipts, is there a way to retrieve them with it ?

That includes more information which allow our engineering team to further investigate the deleted submission and see if that is restorable or not.
