Reason why SMTP stops working

My question is : Can someone please enquire why it suddenly stopped working? twice in 2 years

One of the possible reason that SMTP stops working is when there's an update released by the email provider. Note that SMTP is managed by your email provider. If they released an update or if there's a temporary issue on their end, this may cause failed sending of emails through your SMTP. If SMTP fails to send the email, it will switch immediately to our default sender email. This is to attempt continuing sending email of emails until you reconnect your SMTP.

I suggest contacting your email provider to check on their log to get more details. Jotform allows SMTP connection but doesn't have any control over it.
