About St. Jørgen
St. Jørgen is a dynamic company committed to advancing the green transition. Positioned as pioneers in combined solar, onshore wind, and battery storage (and potentially PTX) projects, they strive to lead the way in the renewable energy sector in Denmark, the Nordics, and Eastern Europe, as an upcoming IPP (Independent Power Producer). Well-funded by private investors, their mission is to create a positive societal and environmental impact through the development, construction, and operation of purposeful large-scale renewable energy projects and power plants. St. Jørgen’s strategic focus revolves around the following three key elements: large-scale renewable energy projects, new and combined technologies, and geographical diversification.
The current pipeline consists of approximately 26GW (including 20GW gross early leads), in selected key areas. Furthermore, St. Jørgen is currently developing one of Europe’s largest utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a capacity exceeding 500 MW, with other projects in the pipeline approaching similar size.
The position
As a Corporate Lawyer at St. Jørgen, you will play a pivotal role in driving their mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support across a wide range of corporate matters, including contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that St. Jørgen’s renewable energy projects are developed and executed in a legally sound and sustainable manner.
You will work closely with the executive team, project managers, and external legal counsel to navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes, ensuring that business operations are compliant and aligned with the sustainability goals. As a Corporate Lawyer, you will provide legal guidance on Danish and international solar, wind, and Power-to-X (PTX) projects. You will draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, such as partnership, joint venture, and commercial agreements. Additionally, it is crucial that you can collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and bring a pragmatic commercial mindset to the role. Moreover, an independent work style and the ability to take ownership of tasks are key qualities for success in St. Jørgen’s fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills will enable you to navigate challenges with confidence and ease. Candidates with a background in corporate finance law, real property law, mergers and acquisitions, M&A real estate, or commercial contracts/corporate law are particularly sought after, as this experience aligns well with the needs of the role and contributes to the overall success of the team.
Furthermore, it is expected that you have:
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to handle complex legal and business challenges
- Problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English
