A reminder that RWU offers TWO general membership types:
- Voting Membership
- Solidarity/Non-Voting Membership
Both membership types can renew for one, two, or three years. Please read the specifics laid out below:
VOTING MEMBERSHIPS are exclusive to railroad workers, railroad retirees, and family of railroad workers. If you are an active working railroader you must join as a voting member. Voting members have full voice and vote, and may hold office.
NON-VOTING SOLIDARITY MEMBERSHIPS are available to all those with no working connection to the railroad industry, as well as railroad retirees and family who prefer a Solidarity membership. Solidarity members have no vote and may not hold office.
Anyone can join as a LIFETIME MEMBER ($1000). Those who do will never have to pay dues/renew their membership again, but the only Lifetime Members who garner voting privileges must be actively working railroaders, railroad retirees, or family of railroaders.
Note: The term "railroader" means "railroad worker."
