Important Note:
You do not require a visa when travelling to Fiji for purpose of:
- Holiday
- Investment
- Sporting
- Conference and Meetings
- Visiting friends, relatives and families
- Attending to functions like marriages, funerals etc.
Prior approval is required for business related travel. Please refer to notes below on requirements for Business Visitors Permit.
Business Visitors Permit
From 1 August 2022, Business Visitors Permit will be granted for a period of 21 days. A Business Visitors Permit allows foreign nationals to undertake business, study, research, consultancy, or work related activities in Fiji for 21 days. A Business Visitors Permit is not required to attend workshop, training and meetings in Fiji.
Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and United States of America Nationals
Business Visitors Permit will be granted on arrival for Australian, New Zealand, Singapore, and United States of America passport holders for 21 days.
Extension to the 21 days Business Visitors Permit will require a Short Term Work Permit which is to be applied prior to the expiry of the Visitors Business Permit, with an applicable fee.
If you work beyond the 21 days without transitioning to a Short Term Work Permit, you may be removed from Fiji and denied future entry into Fiji.
Nationals of Other Countries
Prior approval is required to enter on the Business Visitor Permit for nationality of countries not listed above.
Procedures to obtain prior approval
a. Requests from the employer / organisation in Fiji are to be sent to with the following information
i. Invitation from the organisation in Fiji.
ii. Name, date of birth and passport number of the person arriving;
iii. The role the person will be undertaking in the organisation;
iv. The intended length of stay;
v. Name and Contact of organisation representative; and
vi. Bio Data page of applicants passport
b. A response will be provided within 2 to 24 hours.
c. The person travelling is required to carry a copy of the approval letter and present it on arrival. In addition, the person must declare “Business” on arrival when entering Fiji.
d. You may be denied entry into Fiji if the approval letter is not presented.
e. Further extension will require a Short Term Work Permit which is to be applied prior to the expiry of the Visitors Business Permit, with an applicable fee.
f. If you work beyond the 21 days with transitioning to a Short Term Work permit, you may be removed from Fiji and denied future entry into Fiji.
