Confiigurable List: How do I remove the colon from the Configurable List in the Google Sheet?

Sorry to bother you again, but there is a final question I'd like to ask regarding the configurable list widget. When its answers get sent to Google Sheets, they appear on a cell preceded by a colon and a space. I have tried removing those on the configuration of the field, but they appear necessary for the different variables to be configured and indicated. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to fix it?

    Hi nordia_digital,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can add a name to the dropdown field in the Configurable List so it will act as a prefix to the option in the cell of the Google Sheet.

Take a look at the data that appears in the Google Sheet:

Hello Sweta, and thank you for your answer.

I know this option exists, it's just that I would like to leave this field blank and only answers to appear on the results cell. Would this be possible?

    Best,

    Paula

    Hi Paula,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The Configurable List is treated as a single-form field, even if it contains multiple input fields and you can not hide the cells that have not been filled. In the Submission table, each column corresponds to a form field, and this format is maintained when exporting data to spreadsheets. However, when utilizing a Configurable List widget, the data gets exported to Google Sheets as a single field, preventing the display of data in separate cells. To achieve cell-level data display in Google Sheets, it's recommended to use regular form fields instead of the Configurable List widget.

Meanwhile, you can use the Convert Text to Columns Wizard in Excel to split text into different columns. Refer to the guide and video tutorial here for assistance. Another workaround might be to use conditional formatting or formulas in Google Sheets to display only the answers and ignore or hide cells with blank entries.

If you want this feature to be implemented, please let us know so we can escalate it as a feature request.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

    Good afternoon Lyla,

Thank you for your answer. However, my question is not about unanswered lines.

The form I'm working on is now this one, I decided to duplicate it to have a backup and have gone further on changes now: https://form.jotform.com/233272856582363

I want the widget to be simply the title, the name selector and the button, I want no prefix to be added to my answers, so I have configured the widget like this:

Confiigurable List: How do I remove the colon from the Configurable List in the Google Sheet? Image 1 Screenshot 40

As you will see, when I enter data on this question, results are gathered with this colon+space at the start:

Confiigurable List: How do I remove the colon from the Configurable List in the Google Sheet? Image 3 Screenshot 62

I have verified and the colon is necessary for the widget setup. And here is where my question comes in: What can I do to remove them?

    Thank you very much,

    Paula

    Hi nordia_digital,

Thanks for getting back to us. I cloned your form and checked the configuration of the widget and I see that you added two colon signs in the widget. Here's a screenshot of it:

Please try to remove the other colon and test the form again.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

    Hello Gian,

    Sorry for the late response.

We typed two semicolons because of the structure of the number fields according to your instructions: as we want no placeholder, this space needs to be left blank, and for that reason both semicolons appear next to each other.

I have tried everything that has come to my mind, but I haven't succeeded. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Paula

    Hi Paula,

We appreciate your patience while we were testing the form. Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the colon in the Configurable list when linked to a Google Sheets document at the moment. Keep in mind, you can visualize your data without the colon from Jotform Tables normally. While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can do for you.
