    ¡Hola, amigos!

    Hi Samuel,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. I'd like to let you know that I am using a translation tool to provide assistance, but if you would prefer to get assistance in the Spanish language, we can forward your ticket to our Spanish team. However, please note that it could take longer to receive a response.

With that being said, let me assist you with your inquiry. Please note that if you need to repopulate form fields using URL parameters, you need to use the field's Unique Name and not the field ID. Let me show you how to get a field's Unique Name:

    1. Click on the Gear icon attached to the field.
    2. Go to Advanced in the menu on the right.Prepopulating form fields using URL parameters Image 1 Screenshot 30
    3. Scroll down and click on Field Details to expand it to see the Unique Name.Prepopulating form fields using URL parameters Image 2 Screenshot 41

You may review our guide about Prepopulating Form Fields via URL Parameters.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Hi, I'm sorry I haven't answered all this time.

I think I expressed myself badly. I'm not trying to use the ID of a field, I'm trying to prefill a field using the field name "ID". I can't change this field name as it comes from another of my web applications. Pre-filling works fine with other field names, but not with the field name "ID". I guess it could be some kind of incompatibility because Jotform uses "ID" for its own tasks. Do you know if there is any way or shortcut to pre-fill a field using "ID" as field name?

    Hi Samuel,

Thanks for your clarifications. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out exactly what you want to achieve. If you refer to any short text or number field with “ID” as the title being incompatible, these fields should be possible to configure. Now, if you are referring to the Unique ID widget, this would not be modifiable with the URL field pre-populator since it is not compatible.

It would be really helpful for us to understand you better if you could share a screenshot of what you mean, as well as a little more information about what you are trying to do specifically with your form. In case you are working on this in a form, please also share with us the URL of the form, so we can check it out.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to keep helping you with this.
