    Hola,

    Hi SoporteOperativo,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Our Spanish Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users right now, so I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Spanish, let us know and we can have them do that. But, it might take a while until they're available again.

Now, coming back to your question, I understand it, but I’ll need a bit of time to work out a solution. I’ll get back to you shortly.

    Hi SoporteOperativo,

Thanks for your patience. If I got this right, the detected city, latitude, and longitude did not change even when accessing the form in a different location, is that correct? I tested my own form, and it seems that the widget is working an intended. What I did is turned on my VPN, so the IP address will change and as you can below, the submissions have different city, latitude, and longitude:

Did you use the same IP address for both submissions? The IP address plays an important role for this widget. As soon as I turned off VPN, the next submission had a similar location. Can you try to use a different internet connection to see if the data will update?

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

    Hi Jeric,

What I did was tried to acces form diferent locations in the same city with diferent cellphones and the latitude and longitud did not change. The IP should be different since the users link to a different cellphone towers. In other words, different internet connections.

When you said "I turned on my VPN" is that something I have to configure in my form. I mean is there and option for that I missed?

    Hi SoporteOperativo,

Thanks for getting back to us. Can we perform a test submission on your forms to see if the coordinates are changing or not?

In the meantime, I cleared your form's cache on my end as a form of basic troubleshooting. Clearing your form caches is also one of the ways to refresh your forms.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

    Hi Princess,

I just sent a test submission as you requested on one of the two forms

The coordinates are still off. The coordinates point to the capital of my country

    Hi SoporteOperativo,

Thanks for getting back to us. I’m sorry to hear you're having difficulties with Get Visitor Location Widget. The above form in which you made a test submission is disabled, so I was not able to check that form.

But when I tested your other form (https://form.jotform.com/241435465957668), I was able to get the correct latitude and longitude based on my location. Checkout the below screencast :

I'd recommend you to check your latitude and longitude on this GPS Coordinates - Latitude and Longitude Finder website and cross-check with the latitude and longitude on your test submission. To see whether both are different or not.

I would also recommend you to check whether the Location setting is enabled on your browser or not while you're filling out the form. Because if it is turned off it might pick nearest latitude and longitude.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
