Hallo,

Hi lpverlag,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I would suggest if you're using a Form Calculation Widget, you can use the option provided below:
Also, you can use the Masked Input Widget. This widget allows the input of numerical values without formatting, and then it formats the entered value into the configured number format.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi, and this Option "Use Commas for decimal point" is not available in the number field?

Hi lpverlag,
Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, It is not possible to use commas in the Number field. You can use the Calculation Widget as my colleague mentioned. I've gone ahead and escalated this as a feature request to our Developer Team. When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.Reach out to us if you have any questions.

Thanks for escalation.
I can't find the calculation widget in my German surface. The Widget "Formular Berechnung" seems to be another one, but here it isn't possible to change the point to comma.

Hi lpverlag,
Thanks for getting back to us. The Widget is called Formular Berechnung in German. Let me show you how to set it up:
- In Form Builder, click on Element hinzufügen on the right side of the screen.
- Go to the tab Widgets and search for the Widget and search for the Widget Formular Berechnung.
- Drag the Widget and drop it to your form.
- Click on the Zauberstab icon right beside the widget to open the widget properties.
- Now click on Feld Hinzufügen and select these fields you want to calculate.
- On the same page, click on the Three Dots in the calculation keypad.
- Go to the tab Optionen and checkmark the option Komma statt Dezimalpunkt verwenden.
- Click Zurück and Speichern.
Let me show you my results:
We also have a guide about How to Perform Form Calculation Using a Widget that you can check out.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Is it possible to configure a standard text field to accept only numbers and ','. Many countries in Europe use a comma as a decimal separator. The numeric field is not usable for these countries. The suggested alternative solutions would confuse the user.

Hi lpverlag,
Thanks for reaching back to us. Yes, you can set a mask to the Short Text element. LEt me show you how to.
- In the Form Builder, select your Short Text element and click on the gear icon.
- In the Short Text Properties panel, select the Options tab.
- Switch to On the Input Mask option, and fill the mask required, as for instance ##,## to force using "," and two digits for the decimal.
That's it. As a result, we get:
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thanks. Unfortunately, this does not solve our problem. It is uncertain whether 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 digits are required before the decimal point. As I said, the German/European market needs a solution in which the decimal separator for number fields is replaced by a comma.

Hi lpverlag,
Thanks for getting back to us. We noted the German market needs and forwarded them to our developers. The feature request has already been escalated to our Developer Team. When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.Reach out to us if you have any questions.
