    Hallo,

    Vielen Dank.

    Hi kanzleihayhurst,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our German Support isn't available at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in German, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, let me help you with your question. SMTP Authentication failed message indicated that either the given are incorrect or authentication settings on your server isn't configured correctly. Firstly, could you be so kind as to make sure the given credentials for the SMTP setup is correct?

If the Validation Error issue still persists after making sure the credentials are correct, could you try using port 587 as Microsoft's relevant article about POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings suggest?

Nevertheless, if you are still experiencing the issue after the port change, please make sure that the email account you are trying to use is set up properly and has been granted permission to use SMTP authentication. To learn more about SMTP AUTH in Outlook, you can check out the Enable or disable authenticated client SMTP submission (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online guide by Microsoft that provides the necessary information on How to Enable SMTP AUTH for specific mailboxes. Please note that these actions require you to be able to log into Microsoft 365 admin center.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
