Bypass 5MB attachment limit

    David Krist

Nachtrag: Scheint wohl doch zu funktionieren. Bitte entschuldigen Sie die Unannehmlichkeiten.

    Hello David,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'd like to let you know that I am using a translation tool to provide assistance, but if you would prefer to get assistance in the German language, we can forward your ticket to our German team. However, please note that it could take longer to receive a response.

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to increase the file size limit of the PDF attachment in the email notification. The Email system dictates the attachment file size, so you cannot change the max limit allowed within your Form Builder.

Currently, we are sending the emails via the AWS SES and it has a total size limitation. The attachment size is limited to 5MB. This was done to improve the reliability of the email service. If the attachment's total size is more than 5 MB, then the submission emails will be sent without attachments. If you do not need the uploaded images to be attached (they will be instead sent as links), you can simply disable the Send Uploads as Attachments option in the Email Settings:

This will make sure the attachment size limit will not be surpassed (as your PDF document itself is small in size), so the PDF will be sent correctly.

If the links to the files are not enough for you, you can integrate your form with a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox to send the files there as well.

You can also extend the limit by using a Custom SMTP Sender - the attachment limit will then be determined by the email provider you use. If your attachments are very large, however, this may not help you - usually, such services allow up to ~20MB of attachments.

Reach out again if you have any other questions
