Track Google Client ID and Google Ads Click ID

    Hi there,

I have been looking the available threads for answers to this, but the responses vary so much that I can't overlook how to actually do this now.

    This is our configuration:

    - We have several forms embedded via iframe on our website

    - I have added Google Analytics widget to each form

    - We have custom thank you pages for each which are being tracked

    - The form data will be picked up by Integromat and populated into our CRM

So to track conversions further in the pipeline we need to provide the Google Client ID and Google Click ID, if coming from Google ads, to our CRM to later send conversion back to Ads and analytics.

Btw. as this topic is super important it would be great if there was clear tutorial on this. It seems I am not the only one having difficulties in understanding the exact setup.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

So the thing is that you would like to add your Google Client ID and Click ID to the forms, and upon submission, things would be sent to Integromat.

This is that part you're struggling with, correct?

Well, the Client ID and Click ID of the respective lead, yes.

    Hi there,

I think that is not possible. However, you can use the Google Analytics widget and the thank you page.

Let us know if you have more questions.

    Hey,

I read a lot of support threads where your colleagues pointed to different ways of doing it, so I guess it is possible. Just didn't find a clear answer on how to do it. Could you please transfer my request to someone who could help me out here?

    Hello,

From what I could test and find, It looks like you may have to download your Form's Full Source Code to be able to do so.

I am not sure which guides or answers you've found previously but bear in mind that we had to restrict some things lately due to some abusive usage of our services.

Ah ok that is something I didn't know.

Can I inject the full source code into a Wix Page? And if so, how do I then get the IDs through Jotform to Integromat?

    Any info on this, please?

We had a guide for embedding forms to the Wix site, but it uses iframe embed code. I'm not sure if the source code can be added to Wix. Please check it with the Wix support.

You can find how to integrate Jotform and Integromat here: https://www.jotform.com/blog/integromat-integration/

How do I get the gclid and click id into a text field so that Integromat actually receives it?

as far as I have understood, it is not possible for gclid and click id to be populated into a Jotform field when the form is embedded as an iframe, is this correct? If so, is it possible to have this done when embedding the whole source code? I think this would be the only way to have it transferred via Integromat to our crm or do you know of another way?

Btw: I have read this is possible utm codes. Does this apply only in fully embedded forms or is it possible also in iframe embedded forms to get utm codes into hidden Jotform data fields?

    Hi,

Correct if I'm wrong, but now you want to fix how to data will get to your CRM, right?

If yes, here is my answer for this:

I'm afraid that it'll not be possible to get the data through Google Client ID and Google Click ID.

I did multiple tests and read some information from Integromat and I have a workaround that may work and will not use Google Analytics to achieve this.

The idea is to use Jotfrom integrated with Google Sheets, and Google Sheets integrated with Integromat and from here, you'll create a trigger for every time your spreadsheet has a new row, Integromat will get this data and post it into your CRM.

So every time your form is submitted, a new row will be filled in Google Spreadsheet, and this data will be added to your CRM.

More info about Integromat and Google sheets in their website: https://www.integromat.com/en/integrations/google-sheets

I hope my suggestion can help you.

Reach out if you need more assistance.

    Hi Lucas,

thanks a lot for your response. I am not sure if you have understood me correctly: It is not the general form data that I want to transmit to my crm. This is already happening via Integromat. What I am missing is the following:

Whenever a lead comes in via google search or google ads he generates a google analytics client id and a google ads gclid respectively, which makes it possible to track his activity further down the line. So if later the lead buys our product and shifts to the "won" stage in our crm, we need to assign this new conversion event to the id that is associated with this customer in our google analytics. So that we can reanalyze specifically the activity of our won customers and draw our own conclusions. Now the difficulty lies in getting the IDs into the form.

While searching for help in other support tickets I found a few things of which I don't know in which cases they can be applied:

    1) https://www.jotform.com/answers/1169377-how-to-track-url-utm-values-in-jotform

would it be possible to use the same method as with utm codes? So that the gclid and gclientid would be taken from the url and put into the data field? If it is possible, would it work with an embed by iframe or only with full source code embed?

    2) https://www.jotform.com/help/287-how-to-capture-referrer-url/

I read another thread where the support suggested to use the capture referrer url and another one where it was suggested to use the Get form page url. Is any of those helpful in achieving my goal? Again, if so only in full source code embed or is iframe also usable?

    3)

I found a tutorial on how to do it by using google tag manager and populating a form field (in this case from active campaign) with the IDs via script. Would this method work for Jotform, too? Again, if so only in full source code embed or is iframe also usable?

I am a little surprised that this topic is not really covered by Jotform as it is crucial for gaining valuable information on sales and marketing activity.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

We are in the process of covering those topics by writing a bunch of guides and how-to but it is very time-consuming to do.

I know very little about this part of google products, but if I got your logic right, using the text field method (https://www.jotform.com/answers/1169377-how-to-track-url-utm-values-in-jotform), in addition to setting it up via GTM should work as expected, regardless of the form being embedded as an iFrame or full source code.

Please bear in mind that I cannot test it myself as I am not an experienced Google user like you (or just a Google user in general), but if I got your logic and process right, I think we might be onto something here (which would be super nice because we could add it to the list of guides to do!).

    Best regards

    Hey there,

is there someone that could test these methods? I don't really know how to test them myself, especially the utm code one.

Would be super helpful to know if following any of those paths will lead to something or not.
