Liebes Support-Team,
wenn das Formular online ausgefüllt wird und "Create PDF" erstellt wird, wird nur eine Fehlermeldung angezeigt.
Unable to genereate filled PDF
Woran kann das liegen?
Vielen Dank!

Hi EBS_Smart,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our German Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in German, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.
Now, coming back to your question, Can you send me the link to your form, so I can take a look at it for you?
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

Hi Marlies,
Thanks for getting back to us. When I cloned and tested your form, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
Additionally, the PDF was successfully created without any error after submission.
Can you take a screenshot of where the error appears and send it to us? This guide will show you how to do that.
After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

Hi Marlies,
Thanks for the screenshots. That made the issue much clearer. I tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results:
The error didn't show up after previewing it via PDF, and I was able to download it without any problem. I cleared the form caches as a precautionary measure to avoid this issue. Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue, try to use a different browser or switch to a different network and see if it makes any difference.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Jason!
I tried it again. I cleared the form caches to avoid the issue. I tried it with Google Chrome and Mozilla.
Also two colleagues tried it with their notebook.
But it doesn't work :(

Hello Marlies,
Thanks for getting back to us. I understand how difficult and stressful this is. I suggest clearing the browser caches you used to see if it makes any difference. Go to this page to see the guide for Chrome, and visit here for Mozilla. If the issue persists, please switch to a different network or use another device to preview the PDF of your form. If you run into the same issue, please send us the screenshots of the browser Console Log Reports.
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

Liebes Support-Team,
Marlies Walter

Hello Marlies,
Can you try to re-upload your Original PDF in your form? Please note that you can update the Original PDF in your Jotform Smart PDF Forms while keeping the existing mapped fields on your online form. Here’s how to update the original PDF in Smart PDF Forms:
- Click on the Upload tab.
- Click on the Update PDF.
- When the window prompts, select the Re-Upload PDF.
- Then, select your updated PDF and you're done.
Sometimes, the fields that are automatically added in the form from PDF will be in the wrong place or need to be relabelled. If that happens, you'll have to move, resize, or rename the fields just like as shown below:
Smart PDF Editor will try its best to create a perfect copy of your PDF document. But there are instances when the system can't create an exact copy of it, so you have to manually create it using the form elements. We also have a guide about How to Use Jotform Smart PDF Forms and How to Update the Original PDF in Smart PDF Forms that you can check out. If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of the exact error message after re-uploading your original PDF. If you encounter any errors, also include a screenshot of your browser's Console Logs.
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

Hello Marlies,
When I test your form, using the direct form URL https://form.jotform.com/241072115966354 all is working as expected and I can review the PDF as you can see in the screencast below:
But when doing the same test on your website, I'm getting the same result as you that the PDF can't be generated. It seems you are using the form source code on your website. Can you try to add the form using the form iframe code? Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, in the blue navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Publish.
- Click on Embed on the left side of the screen.
- Select the Iframe.
- Click Copy iFrame.
We also have a guide about Getting Your Form's iFrame Code that you can check out.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
