PDF Files are sometimes not being sent as attachments.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our German Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in German, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, let me help you with your question. PDF files are sometimes not sent as attachments if the PDF attachment is more than 5 MB. The attachment size is limited to 5MB. This was done to improve the reliability of the email service. Take note that if the attachment's total size is more than 5 MB, then the submission emails will be sent without attachments. If you want to download the PDF Document, a workaround for this is to add a PDF Link to your email notification so that you can download it from there. Let me show you how:

    1. On your Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.

    2. Under Emails, Hover over your mouse to the Mail Notification and click the Pencil icon.

    3. On the Email tab, select a row where you want to put the PDF Link and click the +Form Field button then select PDF Link. Don't forget to click the Save button to apply the changes that you made.

    4. Do the same steps on the Autoresponder if you want your users to be able to download the PDF Document.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for getting back to us. Please note that the PDF link attached to the email won't require the user to log in to an account. It will only directly bring the user to the submission PDF just like the attachments. As mentioned by my colleague, the inconsistency of the PDF attachment might be due to the PDF file size.

However, can you please try deleting the form's email templates and adding a new one to see if that would resolve the issue? Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click Settings on the orange bar located at the top.
    2. Under the Emails tab, hover over to the email template and then click the Trash icon.
    3. Once done, click the Add Email button and create a new email template.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.
