📸Centennial Photo Contest 📸

Celebrating a Century of Parks, People, and Purpose
Eligibility
Open to All: The contest is open to all Burbank residents amateur and professional photographers.

Age Requirement: Participants must be 16 years of age or older.

*Participants under 18 should have parents/legal guardians writen consent.
Submission Guidelines
1. Theme: Photos must bring the Centennial Theme to life by showing use of Burbank Parks and Recreation Facilities and Programming or a favorite memory involving Burbank Parks & Recreation. This can include outdoor activities, park landscapes, events, and recreational activities currently associated with Burbank Parks and Recreation.
2. Format: Submissions must be high-resolution digital images (minimum 8.5”x11” at 300 DPI). Scanned photos can also be submitted.
3. File Type: Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and Processed RAW.
4. Size: Files should be no larger than 300 MB.
5. Number of Submissions: Each participant may submit up to three (3) photographs.
Additional Rules
1. Original Work: All submissions must be original works created by the entrant.
2. No Offensive Material: No photos shall depict any offensive conduct, including but not limited to violence, blood and gore, sexual content of any kind, or political content of any kind. Photos containing this content will be automatically disqualified.
3. No Watermarks: Submissions should not contain watermarks or signatures. Any submissions with watermarks will be automatically disqualified.
4. Model Releases: Photos including identifiable people must have model releases, which must be provided upon request.
5. Disqualification: The city reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not adhere to the contest guidelines or is deemed inappropriate.
Judging Criteria
1. Relevance: How well the photo captures the essence of the Centennial Theme and Multigenerational use of Burbank Parks & Recreation Facilities and Programming or a favorite memory involving Burbank Parks & Recreation.
2. Originality: Unique perspectives and creativity.
3. Technical Quality: Sharpness, lighting, and composition.
4. Emotional Impact: The ability of the photo to evoke positive emotions related to summer and recreating at our parks.
Judging Process
Panel of Judges: A panel of judges consisting of city officials from the Centennial Committee, Parks and Recreation Executive Staff, and other community leaders will evaluate the submissions.

Announcement of Winners: Winners will be announced with the release of the 2025 Summer Recreation Guide, on the Burbank Parks and Recreation homepage, and on Burbank Parks and Recreation social media channels.
Prizes
1. Grand Prize: The winning photograph will be featured on the cover of the 2025 Summer Recreation Guide, and the photographer will receive special Centennial merch!

2. Runner-Up: The runner-up photograph will have a mention in the main article of the guide and the photographer will receive a special centennial themed prize.

3. Honorable Mentions: Up to five honorable mentions will have their photos featured in an online gallery on the Burbank Parks and Recreation Homepage.
