We all hope to have beacons of strength in our lives from time to time. Our mom, Judy Wicus, filled that role for countless people throughout her life. Her dedication to her children was unparalleled. She spent over 28 years volunteering with the Kiwanis Club of Orland Park striving to make the world we live in a little bit brighter and was very proud of all of the money Kiwanis raised to help provide scholarships to the young adults in the community. Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis visions being a positive influence in communities worldwide so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. We are honored to be able to provide two $2,250 scholarships to LTHS graduating seniors who exemplify outstanding character and have displayed philanthropic tendencies throughout their high school years. The Kiwanis, along with Judy's children, look forward to offering these scholarships in continuing her memory and honoring her love of laughter, life and helping those in need.
