Wood-Fassola "Growing into Someone Awesome" Scholarship
The Lockport Township High School Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Club is pleased to offer a $2,000.00 (non-renewable) Scholarship to a GSA Leader of the Lockport Township High School Class of 2025.

This GSA Scholarship is being offered in honor of LTHS Alumni: Mr. Stephen Sotelo (Class of 1999); Mr. Jim Kleverweis (Class of 1986); & Mr. Lee Rajala (Class of 1971), and LTHS Staff Member Ms. Leticia Harvey. Additionally, we honor LTHS Staff members and GSA Co-Sponsors, Jeff Wood & Arlene Fassola, who served as Club co-sponsors for the first ten years of this club’s existence here at LTHS. All of the named individuals have contributed significantly to funding this scholarship, and/or have supported the LGBTQ & Straight Ally student population through the creation and existence of the LTHS Gay Straight Alliance.

Eligibility and Required Documents
1. Must be a member of Lockport Township High School Class of 2025, including mid-year graduates.
2. Must be a current member of Lockport Township High School Gay Straight Alliance and is serving, or has served, in a Leadership position within the GSA.
3. Résumé that may include the following information: school experiences(athletics, clubs, etc.), out-of-school activities (church, scouts, etc.), awards and achievements, volunteer activities, hobbies and special interests.
4. One letter of recommendation authored by an adult employed by LTHS.
5. An essay describing yourself, including highlights of your GSA leadership experience, how you arrived at this point in your life, any special circumstances we should be aware of, as well as your goals for the future.
6. An essay that speaks to your thoughts of the GSA Pledge. What influence has this pledge had on your life? How might this Pledge guide you into your future?
We the members and visitors of the Gay Straight Alliance, pledge to treat all persons with Respect, Kindess and understanding, even those who may not treat us in kind. Not only will we support and care for one another while at GSA meetings we strive to care for one another throughout the week. We will promote ☮ and harmony thru our actions and words, we will support one another thru our compassion and concern; and we will celebrate Diversity in all we do!
