Big news! We’re thrilled to announce that an enhanced SMTP experience featuring a new OAuth 2.0 connection is now available for Jotform Enterprise customers.
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, or SMTP, allows Enterprise customers to improve email deliverability and comprehensively apply their branding to their Jotform Enterprise server. Open authorization (OAuth) 2.0 support makes SMTP configuration more secure, providing granular permissions and an elevated user experience.
This new offering is a proactive response to changes to SMTP support from Google and Microsoft. Recently, Google discontinued support for apps that use less secure, basic SMTP authentication, and Microsoft plans to do the same in the coming months. Anticipating these changes, Jotform is adapting accordingly by integrating OAuth 2.0 support into our SMTP feature.
OAuth 2.0 lets users easily and securely connect their Google or Microsoft email accounts as a custom sender. This integration streamlines the SMTP setup process and allows users to send emails from their own email addresses, improving brand consistency and email deliverability — both of which can increase customer trust. With OAuth 2.0, you can send emails securely from any Jotform product using an industry-standard protocol for authorization.
