If the user chooses option A from a dropdown field, I would like another field, also a dropdown, to change to X from whatever was in it before. For example:
Q1: Respondent chooses option 2 from dropdown list.
Q2: Respondent chooses option 1 from dropdown list, which is incompatible with option 2 from Q1.
Can the answer to Q1 be changed to a different option depending on the answer to Q2?
Thanks for the information.

Yes, that would be possible using UPDATE/CALCULATE Field conditional logic.
Here's how you can do that.
You just need to make sure that an option in Q2 exists in Q1 and it should be spelled exactly the same regardless of its position in the list.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us anytime if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

prsrecordersocietyReplied on September 4, 2016 at 4:45 PMThanks, I understand, but that is not the need I have. The answers in Q1
are different than those in Q2. I just want an answer in Q1 to be
conditional on an answer in Q2--not the same as the answer in Q2. I
resolved this issue in another way so it is no longer urgent, but having
this if/then application would probably be a handy option.

Unfortunately, this is not available at the moment. I have forwarded a request to our back-end team to have this feature available. There is no estimated time-frame for a resolution, but you will be notified via this thread if there is any progress on this request.
