UPDATE (August 20, 2019): Password protection feature is available now.
Here is how it works:
1. Open the Form Builder and find the Enable Password Protection option under the Settings tab.
2. If you select this option, you should set a password for the form. If you don't set any password, the Enable Password Protection option will be unselected.
3. When you set a password for the form, a person who wants to open the form will see this page:
4. If the person enters the incorrect password, s/he cannot open the form and will see this warning:
5. If the person enters the correct password, s/he can open the form and submit it. However, if you (form owner) change the password after s/he opened the form, s/he cannot submit the form and will see this warning:
6. You can reset the password by clicking on the RESET PASSWORD button or unchecking the Enable Password Protection option.
Hello theenglishhouse,
Please be noted that we do NOT have any built in feature to password protect any form but it is still possible to achieve your requirement. You can take advantage of our "Conditions" feature to show / hide form fields based on the input of any text box. Here are the steps your should follow:
1. Add a "Form Collapse" field at the start and end of your form. You can set the "Visibility" of the form collapse as "Hidden" and the "Status" as "Open". Please check the screenshot below:
2. Before the first form collapse, add a "Text Box" field where user can input the password. Please be noted that you should not use "Password" label in your form. You can use any other text like "Code", "key", "authorization". We have automated anti-phishing system which scans all forms and mark them with probability of being used for phishing activities.
3. You can add condition in your form to check the input text of the text box. If the password matches, you can show the entire form collapse field which will in turn display all the form fields. Please check the screenshot below:
Please take a look at the following demo form : http://form.jotformpro.com/form/42291563960963? Feel free to clone this form for a closer look. The following guide should help you in form cloning: https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL
Hope this helps.

Hi there.
Actually I already have a form with password protection. The problem is I need to edit the password and I cannot remember where I actually set up the password on the form to begin with, therefore I cannot edit it.
Please check here... http://jalts.weebly.com/elementary.html
Once you have accessed the page using the link above, please click on any of the download buttons and you will be taken to a page saying 'restricted access' where you need to enter a password.
This is part of my jotform, so it must be possible to achieve this.
Thank you kindly!

Hello theenglishhouse,
I did check your web page and you have actually embedded grid report there and not your form. These grid report is password protected and to be able to change the password, you will have to edit the report. Please check the screenshot below on how to edit your report:
Hope this helps.
Do get back to us if you have any questions.
Thank you!

I also use the condition method, to hide or reveal the submit button - but you should point out to Jotform users that the 'password' can easily be seen by anyone who clicks on 'view source' or 'view element' in their browser. In my case, the people using it would not know that, but Jotform users should be warned that this does not provide any real security.

Hi yantiang,
You are correct. Thanks for sharing those information. Since we do not have a feature that will allow user to set a password in their form we recommend the suggested workaround.
Regards.
