Can Jotform be used to collect passport information?

Are we not allowed to collect information, such as passport number? 

You may collect passport information if your purpose is not to collect these data from the general public, but from your own customers, you just need to comply with two things:

1. Add the Terms & Conditions Widget (or the Short Scrollable Terms Widget) for your users to read and agree.

2. Add a Signature Widget so your users can sign and agree to provide such sensitive information.

However, we do not allow uploads of any sensitive personal information like passports, social security cards, driver's licenses, credit/debit cards and statements, bank statements, voided cheques, birth/marriage certificates, visas, and photo IDs.

this is a follow up from a previous question. Can you tell me why Jot Form is unable to allow uploads of personal information, like passports and licenses? Is it a lack of security with Jot Form, a liability..etc?

A user is not allowed to get that information because it is considered sensitive data. Accordingly to our Terms of Use is prohibited to ask for this kind of information as it can put the form user personal data at risk.

Driver's License or Passport can only be collected with a plain text field if you add Terms & Conditions and Signature widget to the form or if a form is encrypted.
