How to do real time phone number validation in JotForm?

Hello: We are looking at ways to validate the phone number entered by users using a validator api (as an example - https://realphonevalidation.com/ .  but if you have other suggestions, we would welcome that as well) so that we can use that validation result as a 'pass/fail' criteria (in real time if possible) to prioritize whom to call.

Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,

I highly suggest using the SMS Confirmation Widget it is powered by Twilio. So you need to register an account with Twilio to get real-time results, for verifying phone numbers.

"All you need is to do enter the required credentials from your Twilio account in the widget settings, and your form users will receive a text or call with a verification number that they can use to confirm through your form."

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks! But i am not clear on your response and not sure how this will work...

My expectation is - the users fill the JotForm, and click submit - and we do a real time validation using realphonevalidation.com or phone-validator.net so that we can show the alert on the Form itself prompting the users to re-enter the correct phone number. Is this possible with JotForm and if so, how do or what services do we use to get this accomplished in real time?

    Thank you for the clarification.

so that we can show the alert on the Form itself prompting the users to re-enter the correct phone number.

I apologize if I wasn't clear on my previous response. The SMS Confirmation widget verifies the phone number of your users as soon as they hit the "Confirm" button they will receive a confirmation code.

    Here's a demo form: https://form.jotform.com/61113325728955

Let us know if that doesn't meet your requirements.

Thanks! I think we are getting closer... ok, i just tried your form and it says 'Authenticate' and 'There are errors on the form. Please fix them before continuing.'  How do we actually test this?

Have you registered on Twilio and set up the widget settings? To access the widget's settings, select the widget then click on the wand icon.

Then, fill in the Twilio account information.

If the issue still persists, kindly provide us a screenshot or the direct link of the form.

Thanks, this is very helpful! But this is more like a two factor authentication and might be a bit too much for our users and can possibly impact user registrations... is there a solution little bit more simpler? Like the users enter the phone number and click submit and they get a message to re-enter a valid number? (not just the structure, but the validity of the number itself). This will impact/show up only for those users who didn't enter a valid number in the first place.1570208641Screen Shot 2019 10 04 at 10 Screenshot 10

The only alternative we have, as far as I know, is Twillio: https://www.jotform.com/widgets/sms-confirmation

    Could that work for you?

Hi Nik, thanks, i think this is what Kris recommended as well. I am trying to get a solution where the users don't have to get a code to confirm their phone number. This would impact all users. I am trying to target only the ones entering invalid phone numbers... (again, not the structure, but actual invalid numbers)

Unfortunately, we don't have any other phone validation widget or integration that doesn't need code confirmation.

We only have the Twilio widget for sms-confirmation.
