Date Picker: Receiving double bookings

    birthday parties are being double booked even with customers paying. We listened to the last advice to have payments made so they do not book at the same time. It did not work.

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you please share the URL of the form so we can start the investigation? Here's how to get your form URL:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Publish at the top of the page.
    2. Click on the Copy Link button.

    Also, can you confirm if the duplicate submissions are also creating duplicate charge?

    Hi ReedTompkins,

    Are you referring to bookings made with the 'DATE of party and start TIME for our part to start (we recommend our activities to start 30 minutes into the party) WE WILL CONTACT YOU ASAP IF WE HAVE CONFLICT WITH OTHER BOOKINGS' field? If so, I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue and the same thing happened. Check out the screenshot below to see my results:

    When I checked further, I found that you're using the Date Picker element for the bookings. If you want form fillers to only book a specific time slot once, I suggest that you add the Appointment element instead. It's really easy to do. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element at the top-left of your screen.
    2. In the Basic tab of the left-side Panel, navigate to the Appointment element and drag and drop it into your form. Date Picker: Receiving double bookings Image 2 Screenshot 61
    3. Next, click on the Gear icon.
    4. In the Availability tab of the Panel on the right, you can set the slot duration in the Appointment Slot Duration field. Date Picker: Receiving double bookings Image 3 Screenshot 72

    That's it. Now when the form gets submitted, the specific time slot will be greyed out, and form fillers won't be able to select it again. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

    We can’t run it like an appointment booker because we do birthday parties. People start at all different times and they are 60-90 minutes long. The appointment booker can’t function for us in that means.

    Hi ReedTompkins,

    You can check our widget called Date Reservation. You can avoid double booking with our Date Reservation widget, the dates will then be marked as booked and will be unable to be selected by other people filling out your form. Here's how to add it to your form:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element button.
    2. In the Form Elements window, go to Widgets.
    3. Search for Date Reservation and drag it to your form.
    4. Configure the widget if needed and click on the Update Widget button.
