How can I change the wordings in placeholder answer - 'Other' in Single / Multiple choices?
I had change the Other - to be 'Maybe, depending on cost'. When select, the place holder show "Please type another option here". I want to change it to be "Specify your prefer budget".

Hi Adrienne,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, the Placeholder text on the "Other" option can't be customized yet. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
In the meantime, consider creating a Short text field, which placeholder field can be customized, and show it only when a predefined "Other" option is selected in your Single choice field. Let me show you how to do that:
- In Form Builder, click on your Single Choice field and on its Gear icon.
- Next, under the Options tab, add your "Other" option.
- Now, in the Form Elements menu, click on the Short Text field to add it to your form.
- Then, click on its Gear icon, and under the Advanced tab, indicate your preferred placeholder text.
- Click on Settings and Conditions.
- Select Show/Hide field condition, and create a condition that shows the Short Text field when the "Other" option is selected like so:
That's it. We also have a guide on How to Show or Hide Fields Conditionally that you can check out.
Reach out again if you need any help.
