Required fields missing in the submission data

    Hello,

Recently, quite a few submissions have required fields empty in the record table, the notification email, as well as in the webhook. The missing required fields are random and there is no rhyme or reason why they would be blank as my form has set required on fields.

It is definitely not a user-input error, because in some cases my colleague was helping the user and swear that they filled those required fields in (otherwise error and can't submit).

Please investigate what's going on with your back-end.

In addition, from time to time whenever users submit a form, 2 submissions and 2 notifications with the exact same timestamp would come through - definitely not a user error as it had happen to me while testing.

Please address these issues as errors in certain situations break automations, in addition to losing the data in the required fields.

    Thanks,

    Jack

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotofrm Support. Can you provide at least 2 submission IDs of the affected submissions so we can investigate further? Let me show you how:

    1. In Jotform Tables, select Columns in the upper-right corner.
    2. In Show/Hide Columns, turn on Submission ID.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

The 1st one is from today - with over maybe 10 required fields missing initially (I edited a few in the so if you look at the data table, I manually filled the few columns close to the beginning of the table)

The others are from other days - the most significant miss is the DocuSign field that was left blank - which is impossible as it's a required field and it prevents submission if it's not completed.

And if you look at the table, you can also see some double entries with the same submission date time. Maybe off by 1 second in some cases.

Please look into this as I've seen many other tickets related to double submissions that wasn't a "user pressed refresh" problem.

    Thanks,

    Jack

    Hi Jack,

I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

    Hi Jack,

I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. If I am not filling out the required fields, I'm unable to proceed to the next page of the form and when I fill it out, it shows all the data on required fields. Can you try to clear your form cache? Here's how:

    1. On your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. In the Settings menu, scroll down to the bottom and click on Clear Cache. And that's it, you're done.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes. If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.
