Autocomplete widget: restrict entries that are not available as options

    Hello,

In regards to the Autocomplete widget, is there a way to only allow entries from the autocomplete list? For example, if I wanted a list of countries, and I added "United States" to the autocomplete list, but a used typed in "United States of America", the widget currently allows this. Is there a way to turn that off? It would be most helpful.

    Thank you!

    Hi amcsanrafaelreception,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, the Autocomplete widget doesn't have a validation option to only allow Items set. While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Meantime, you may want to use the Regular Dropdown field to prevent your users from entering an address not listed as an option. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Form Element and click on Dropdown.
    2. Click on Options and paste the items you want to display.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
