Urgent: Assistance Needed with File Upload Issues on Job Application Form

    Hello!

I need assistance with my form titled "Full Time House Cleaner: Paid Weekly + Tips." This form is used for job applications and includes a prompt for applicants to upload their resumes. Although applicants are successfully uploading their resumes, I am unable to open approximately 90% of these files.

Can you help me understand why this is happening? I want to avoid having to reach out to applicants for their resumes again, as it is inefficient and time-consuming. I would appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue so that I can access all uploaded files without additional follow-up.

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Best regards,

    Hi Alzurufi,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Can you share with us a screen recording of what’s happening so we can try to replicate it on our end? You can share the video recording on any public sharing platform like Google Drive or Dropbox, or you can simply use Loom to record the video and share the video link with us. Can you also try to clear your browser cache and cookies to see if the issue no longer replicates? I cleared your form cache as a precaution. You can also try this to test your form on a different device or browser to see if the issue still replicates.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Hi Ali,

When I checked your screen recording, I found that the application that's opening your responses didn't hyperlink the whole URL due to whitespace. In one of your examples, there's a file upload named Resume .docx with a whitespace between Resume and .docx. To view this file, copy and paste this file upload URL in your browser's address bar, and add a whitespace and .docx to the end of it. You can also view your file uploads in Tables. It's easy. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Forms page, hover over your form and click on More.
    2. Then click on Submissions in the dropdown menu.Urgent: Assistance Needed with File Upload Issues on Job Application Form Image 1 Screenshot 20
    3. In Tables, find the submission and its column with the file upload.

We also have a guide about How to View Form Submissions that you can check out.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

    Hi Ali,

I watched your Loom recording as well, I wanted to know where exactly you were getting the submission details for the links you had visible within your Trello board. Is that feeding across from Jotform? I don't see that you have connected the details via a Trello integration for this form. I attempted to access the resume for one of the users in your video recording. For a user named Chris Mata and am able to access his resume directly from the submission table associated with your form. I was able to successfully download his resume there with no issues. But I couldn't access the file when manually entering the following URL into my browser.

My recommendation would be to rely on the submission table that is associated with your form in order to be able to download the actual file and access it directly.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
