How to cancel auto-renewal?

    Members just joining up to our group don't want to have auto renewal of membership. Where can I control this in the form builder please?

    Hi johnbusst,

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can Cancel Your Subscription as this will only cancel the auto-renewal, but you'll have to do it on the Desktop version of Jotform because it's not available yet on the mobile app. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Forms page, hover your mouse over your Profile Image/Avatar icon, and click on it.

    2. In the window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. Under the Billing tab, click on Change Plan.

    4. Click on the Downgrade button to switch to the Starter (Free) Plan.

    Then, you'll see a pop-up window with some extra information about the downgrade. Just follow those instructions to continue with canceling your plan.

    Thank you Kim. It's not my (FoNR) subscription I want to cancel it is the people applying for membership through Jot form on our website. They are being signed up for auto renewal. How do I set the form so it only takes a one only payment?

    Hi Liz,

    I checked your form and can see that your payment gateway is Square. Currently, I can see that your payment type is set to Sell Products so the autorenewal should not happen anymore and only one payment will be taken now. But, if you set up your payment type before as Sell Subscription, you can cancel customer's subscription from your Square Dashboard. You can check out our guide on How Do I Work with Square Subscription and Cancel it in Jotform?. Let me show you how:

    1. Go to Invoices from your online Square Dashboard.
    2. Click the ‘…’ on an active recurring invoice/donation. Recurring invoices will have a status marked Recurring and will follow an ID convention similar to 000001-R-0001.
    3. To edit the information on a single invoice, click Edit Recurring Invoice.
    4. To cancel it, click Cancel Recurring Invoice.

    In addition to you as merchant can also cancel the subscription from your Square dashboard. Merchant should go to Customer page and find related customer. After that, merchant should remove customer's card. This guide will show you how to do that. 

    Additionally, both merchants and customers can cancel subscriptions via email now. Jotform sends you and your customer an email about the recurring payment. In the email, there is a link to cancel the subscription. Click the link, and confirm the cancellation on the next screen. Example as shown in the screenshot below:
