Hello, i am hoping you can help me please, my job requires me to take pictures during the course of a “survey”, i need to add date, time and geo tag to the image (overlay the actual image), this i cannot do with the native Iphone camera, i usually use an app called TimeStamp Camera to achieve this which works really well.

if i add your widget “Take Picture” this opens the default camera, i added an automation to my iphone so when the camera is opened it opens the time stamp app, this works if i open the camera from the iphone home screen but if i use the take picture field when completing a form it does not open the timestamp camera, just the default camera. Is there away to open the preferred camera app using the take picture field or is there a eay i can acheive this, thank you for your help,

    Hi Laurie,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

    Hello, @Laurie

You’re facing a bit of a challenge with integrating the TimeStamp Camera app into your workflow. Unfortunately, the “Take Picture” field in forms typically defaults to the native camera app and doesn’t support custom camera apps directly. However, here are a few workarounds you can try:

    Workaround 1: Use Shortcuts Automation

    Create a Shortcut:

Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

Tap on Automation at the bottom.

    Tap Create Personal Automation.

Select App and choose the default Camera app.

Set the trigger to Is Opened.

Tap Next and add the action Open App.

    Choose the TimeStamp Camera app.

Disable Ask Before Running and confirm.

    Test the Automation:

Open the default Camera app to see if it automatically redirects to the TimeStamp Camera app.

    Workaround 2: Manual Process

    Take Photos with TimeStamp Camera:

Use the TimeStamp Camera app to take all your survey photos.

    Upload Photos to Form:

After taking the photos, manually upload them to the form from your photo gallery.

Workaround 3: Use a Different App

    Explore Other Apps:

Look for other camera apps that might offer better integration with forms or have built-in timestamp and geotagging features.

    Additional Tips

Check for Updates: Ensure both the TimeStamp Camera app and your form app are updated to the latest versions.

I hope this info is helpful to you.

    Best Regard,
