I am reaching out to seek your assistance regarding the creation of a dynamic table or short answer field in my JotForm. As illustrated in the attached screenshot, I would like to have the ability to add more rows as needed for the "Job Name" field. However, I am currently unable to find a way to add my answers to my PDF form dynamically.
Could you please guide me on how to achieve this functionality within JotForm? Any help or resources you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Care_Client_ccare,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can use a Short Text box instead, as you can't map additional rows if you use a Dynamic Textbox. Let me show you how:
- In Smart PDF Form Builder, click the Add Form Element in the top left corner.
- Under the Basic tab, click or drag Short Text elements to the form as needed.
- Then, map it to your PDF.
You can also set up a Show/Hide conditions so that the fields are not visible on your form.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

Thank you for your previous response. However, it did not address my specific query.
I understand that "SHORT TEXT" can be mapped into the PDF form. My question is whether it is possible to map a "DYNAMIC TEXTBOX" into the PDF form. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?
The goal is to allow users to create as many rows as needed. The "SHORT TEXT" option does not support this requirement.

Hi Care_Client_ccare,
Unfortunately, you can't add rows using the Dynamic Textbox widget, so it can be mapped to the PDF version of your Smart PDF form. At the same time, widgets can't be mapped in Smart PDF, as only regular fields can be mapped there, like Short Text, Dropdowns, Single/Multiple Choice, among others.
Aside from the workaround provided by my colleague, Christian, you can do is to add an Input Table field in the form. You can include the details needed to be filled out, maximized the number of rows, and map them into the form. Let me show you how:
- In Smart PDF Forms, click on Add Form Element on the Left.
- Under the Basic tab, look for Input Table and add it into the form.
- Once added, go to the Fields tab and change Input Type to Textbox.
- From there, you can add the Columns and Rows to match the PDF. Click on + Add Row for additional rows, or + Add Columns for columns. You can also click them within the field itself.
- Click on the Trash Can icon to delete any row/column.
- You can also click on Add Multiple Rows/Columns to add any of each in one go.
- After that, you can then map the fields in the PDF.
Here's a sample data from a test submission:
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.
