    Hello.

    we are an accounting company, working internationally, and we ask clients to provide sensitive, personal data, such as passport/id copy, social security numbers, etc. so to help them deal with their income taxes from abroad. So foreign tax offices do require to provide us copies, as we are client's representatives, under Power of Attorney for specific tax matters. And it would not be enough to collect raw passport data for sure, need files.

    I am aware of T&C and signature widgets, everything understandable;

    • However, when it comes to photo copies (using upload file in a form) - I do not get it, because Jotform Customer support explanations contradicts each other, please check screenshots and/or links:

    Actually, we would forward our clients to filling in jotform, only AFTER they register with us directly, meaning accepting our T&C. Do we still need that t&c widget?

    And, the most important - can we actually ask client to upload photos pf docs, using Jotform.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Please note that some sensitive information, such as social security numbers and passports, can be collected if your purpose isn't to gather this data from the public but from your own customers. This information can only be collected with a plain text field, and you must comply with two requirements:

    1. Add the Terms & Conditions Widget (or the Short Scrollable Terms Widget) for your users to read and agree to.
    2. Add a Signature Widget, so your users can sign and agree to provide such sensitive information.

    Since the above data can only be collected with a plain text field, we don't allow uploads of any sensitive personal information, such as passports, social security cards, photo IDs.

    Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.
