Authentication error while trying to setup smtp

    Hello,

I'm trying to set up the automatic emails to come from a different email address, but when I try to set it up I get and auth issue. We use gmail workspace and I read that you need to set up an app password so I tried that. At first it didn't give me even an error, it just didn't work. But I went in again later and it showed up in the drop down list however, when I tried to use it the email still came from noreply@jotform.com.

Any assistance would be much appreciated thanks!

    Hi DOOR_International,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. When I cloned and tested your form, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:

Can you go ahead and try again to set up SMTP on your form? Here's how to do it:

    1. Go to My Accounts.
    2. In the Settings tab, look for the Sender Details option and click on the + Add Sender Email button.Authentication error while trying to setup smtp Image 2 Screenshot 51
    3. Enter the SMTP details as follows:
    4. Email Address: Your email address.
    5. Host Name: The hostname provided by your hosting provider.
    6. Port: 587 or 465.
    7. Username: Your email address. Unless the hosting provider specifies a unique username, this should be the same as the email address.
    8. Password: The password for the given email address/username.
    9. Security Protocol: TLS or SSL.Authentication error while trying to setup smtp Image 3 Screenshot 62

    4. If all fields are correctly filled out, click the Test Email button to confirm that the SMTP setup works. If successful, click the Save Email button to complete the setup. If not, review and correct the details.
