    Hello,

I'm wondering if there is a way (in reports or otherwise) to see how many submissions came from each language our form was offered in.

    Hi GleanersFoodBankIndy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Currently, there is no option to see how many submissions are answered in a specific language. As a workaround, you can get the value based on what language the user used and save it so it will be included in the data when they submit. Here's how to do it:

    1. Add a Short Text Element that we can save as language value.

    2. You can also hide it if you want to.

    3. Now add a condition for each language. In the orange navigation bar at the top, click on Settings.

    4. On the left panel, click on Conditions.

    5. Click on +Add Condition and select Update/Calculate Field.

    6. Set the condition and click on Save when you're done.

Here's a screenshot of the condition:

Do this to each of the languages and that's it. When the form filler chooses a language, it will also be saved when they submit.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Thanks for the tip. Does this only work for form fillers who have not yet submitted a form? We have received all the submissions we needed for our form, so it's currently disabled. I tried the above but am not seeing anything populate in the language field.

    Hi GleanersFoodBankIndy,

The workaround my colleague provided works for future submissions. For the submissions that you already received, you can instead add a drop-down as the Language field, then add the Languages you wish on the drop-down selection, that way when you visit Jotform Tables, you will be able to manually add the language by selecting the option instead of typing it one by one. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, add a drop-down field then hide it.
    2. Add the languages on the drop-down options then go to Jotform Tables to visit the submissions.
    3. When you are on the submissions, find the column of the drop-down field you just added, then add the entry to each submission you already have.

That makes sense, but again - doesn't actually help me know if users submitted the English or Spanish version of our form. The form is primarily multiple choice, so it's looking like the only way we can try to guess which version users viewed is if they selected "other" for any of the questions and typed their answers in either English or Spanish.

    Hi GleanersFoodBankIndy,

Since the submissions are already in the Tables, there's no option for you to know if it was submitted using the English or Spanish version. So yes, you can only know which version they used if they selected "other" for any of the questions and typed their answers in English or Spanish.

Try to apply the suggestion I made above next time so you'll then know which language the form fillers are using.

Reach out again if you need any other help.
