    Hi Harley,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand when a user selects a variation, you want an option to enter the variation as an answer and the amount to be added to the checkout. You can add calculation value in the Multiple-choice element and add the Form Calculation widget to calculate the total to pass it to the payment element of the form. You can also add a condition to show another short text element to type out the variation. Let me show you how:

Let's first add calculation value for Multiple-choice options.

    1. In Form Builder, select the Multiple-choice Element and click on the Gear icon.
    2. In the Options tab, toggle the Calculation values to the On position and add the amount for each option.

Now, let's add a short text element to let them enter the variation as an answer and show it conditionally.

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    2. Add a Short Text or Long Text element for variation.

    1. Click on the Settings tab from the orange navigation bar.
    2. Click Conditions on the left menu.
    3. Select the SHOW/HIDE FIELD condition.
    4. Add condition as shown below:
    5. In IF, select the Multiple-choice element.
    6. In STATE, select Is Filled.
    7. In DO, select Show from the dropdown.
    8. In Field, select the Short Text or Long Text element you added and click the Save button. How to let someone type out answer on selection of multiple choice element and calculate the amount that is added to checkout Screenshot 92

The condition should look like this.

Now, let us calculate the total.

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    2. Click on the Widgets tab.
    3. Search for the Form Calculation widget, and click on it to add. Let's label it as Total.
    4. Click on the Wand icon.
    5. Click on the Add Field button and select the Multiple-choice element as we have added the amount in the calculation values.
    6. Finally, click on the Save button.

Now, let's pass this total to the payment element. I checked your form and it appears that you have not added any payment element. You can add any payment integration and pass the total. I will show you an example of the PayPal payment gateway.

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    2. In the Payments tab, add the PayPal element.
    3. Add your PayPal account email under Gateway credentials.
    4. Select User Defined Amount from the Payment Type dropdown.
    5. Click on the Yes Go Ahead button on the confirm window.
    6. Select Product Total from the Get Price From Dropdown and click on the Save button.

That's it. When an option is selected, it will show the long text element for variations and the amount will be passed to the payment element.

Here is a demo version of the form that you can clone and test.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Harley,

Can you explain a bit more about what you want to do? For example, when the user click on Variation 1 and Variation 2, how much would be the additional?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

    Hi Harley,

To confirm, do you mean you want to add an additional $90 from the total calculation at the end of the form? It would be best if you can do a screen recording so we can have a better understanding of the issue. You can save the file in your Google Drive and share with us the link here. Make sure that anyone with the link can access it.

    Hi Harley,

Unfortunately, it is still unclear what is it that you are trying to do. Would you like the form user to have the option to pick a quantity? Please give an example scenario so we know how to proceed with a solution.

As for your other question, I've moved that to a new thread to avoid confusion. You can check that out here:
