Do people who view/fill out our forms have to sign up for an account on jotform?

    Hi Tanna,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Your form users are not required to have a Jotform account to fill up your form, as long as the Access Setting is set to Public. Here's how to do it

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.

    2. Click on Settings on the right side of Share With Link.

    3. Click on Public Form.

We also have a guide about How to Change the Access Settings of a Form that you can check out.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thank you! And even though it is public, would only people who have access to the URL be able to get to it? Our plan is to make it a hidden part of our website that we only send the link to when necessary. Thanks!

    Hi Tanna,

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, as long as you have set it as Public, anyone who has the form link, will be able to view and fill it in. You can restrict who can fill out your form; You can either make your website form page private so that only people who are invited can view it (you can know how to do that by contacting your website builder), or you can make your form access Private so that only people who you invite can access your form after they sign in to their Jotform Account. It’s easy to set up. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Publish in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
    2. Click on Settings, click on Private Form, and select your permission.
    3. Next, enter the email addresses of the people you want the form to be sent to.
    4. Click on Submit & View to select the permission type, and then click on Send Invitation. That’s it. You’re done.

After you invite people to fill in your form, they’ll receive an email that has a View Form button:

When they click on that button, they’ll be asked to log in to their Jotform Account, or they’ll need to create a Jotform Account to fill in your form:

After they sign in/log in to Jotform with the email address they were invited with, they can fill in your form.

Give it a try, and let us know if you have any questions.
