Is there a way to give an error message and hide the Submit Button if 2 name fields are the same? I have a form for facilities to fill out a registration and add the student name. We keep getting students that fill out the form and use their own name as the facility contact name. I want to show an error and hide the submit button if the Facility Contact Name and the Student Names are the same. It is this form: https://form.jotform.com/203025985550051

    Hi Cindy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, you can hide the Submit button and display a custom error if the Facility name field is equal to the Full name field by copying the full name field into a new field and hide it. After that, you can add a new condition to match the new field and the facility name field. Let me walk you through it:

First, add a new Short text field and Hide it:

Now, add a Paragraph field to display a custom error message hide it too:

After that add one Update/Calculate condition to copy the full name field value into the Duplicate name field:

Second Show/Hide field condition to match the values and hide the hide the submit button and display the error:
