    Hello,

I'm new to Jotform and building a recommendation form. Is there a way to add some sort of property that would allow me to enter the name of the person who asked the form to be filled out?

For example, let's say John Smith is asking a former teacher to fill out a recommendation form for them. Is there a way we can enter John Smith into the form before it goes out so they know who they're filling the form out for?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. It is possible to initially fill out the form before sending it to the user using the Form Prefill. Let me show you how:

    1. In your Form Builder, click on the Publish tab in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
    2. Click on the Prefill tab on the left side of the page.
    3. Select the Manual Prefill and do the following:
    4. In the New Prefill window, fill out the form that you want to be initially set.
    5. Click the Create button located on the right side corner of your page.
    6. After that, you will then see a generated form prefill link. Click the three vertical dot icon on the right side of the prefill link and select the Send Invitation button.
    7. In the Send Invitation dialog, enter the recipient email and the message, and click the Send Invitation button.
    8. You can repeat the same step for other users. Prefill the form before sending to user Image 1 Screenshot 30

That's it! Test your form, and you will receive an email for the form prefill link. Check out my screenshot below:
