Hi there, what security and authentication options are available for forms if any?

For example, if we have a form designed for a particular account. I assume that URL is public or at least if someone had it they can use it.

In order to make sure the form was filled out by that account or even by a particular person, are there any authentication methods available at all to make sure the person submitting the form is who they say they are.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. All your forms are served across a protected 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection that uses a SHA256 Certificate. It is the industry standard protection. You may find more information about Jotform Data Security here.

Regarding your form URL privacy, you can set a password for your forms. So, the only users that have access to your form can fill out the form:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page and click on Show More Options.
    2. Next, scroll down to Password Protection, and put a check in the box next to it.
    3. Now, enter the password that you want to use and that’s it. You’re done.

Another option is to set your form as private access, so the invited people can only fill out your form:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Publish in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
    2. Click on Settings and click on Private Form and select your permission.
    3. Next, enter the email addresses for the people you want the form to be sent to.
    4. Click on Submit & View to select the permission type, and then click on Send Invitation. That’s it. You’re done.
