fsklandAsked on June 23, 2024 at 11:44 AMmy partner is trying to clone a doc of mine. I sent him url but he is getting an error message. Please confirm that the url he needs to use is what I provide through 'copy link'. and any other helpful hints would be appreciated. We are using the cloning guide and I thought it was because I was on Private, but I changed back to Public to try, refreshed, and sent him link from Public status and still did not work. Please advise

Hi Fred,
Make sure that the form's cloning feature is not disabled in the form settings. Let me show you how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, and click on Show More Options.
2. Scroll down the page, and in the Prevent Cloning dropdown, select No.
That's it. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Mine is marked No. Does it have to be no on my partner's as well? he is the one cloning my document. Also, can you be specific on which URL he should use to clone. I want to send him the right one. And finally, does Private or Public status on my part affect his ability to clone one of my surveys? Thanks

Hi Fred,
There are 2 settings to check so that others can clone your form. The first is the one provided by my colleague, and the second is your account's privacy settings. Let me walk you through it:
- Click your Avatar/Profile picture on the right side of the screen.
- In the dropdown, click on Settings, or click on this link to go directly to your Settings page.
- Now, go to the Security tab and uncheck the box next to Do not allwo my forms to be cloned by other users under the Privacy section.
Yes, private forms cannot be cloned, so make your form public so that your partner can clone the form. You might also want to check out this guide about Where to Find Your Form URL.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.
