    Hi Mttapal,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can use our QR Code Reader to get value from your QR Code and pull data from Spreadsheet that came from the first form. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Form Element + menu and go to the Widgets Tab.
    2. Search and add QR Code Reader and Spreadsheet to Form widgets to your form. Make sure you have uploaded your Sheet.
    3. Click on Add Form Element + menu again and go to the Basic tab.
    4. Add the form elements that you want to pull from your Spreadsheet.1677476006 63fc40a69cebe Screenshot 10 Screenshot 30 Screenshot 20
    5. Click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    6. Go to Conditions, and click on Update/Calculate Field. How to create QR code reader form? Image 1 Screenshot 41 Screenshot 31
    7. Click on Save.

You can test the demo form. You will have to fill up this form first to receive the QR code. Once you receive the email with the QR code, you can now scan it on this form. If this works for you, you can clone the forms using the URL. Here's the guide you can use.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

I attempted these steps, but no QR code was sent. I'm sorry but I don't think I'm fully understanding the steps.

I added QR Code Reader and Spreadsheet to Form widgets at the top of my form

I added all the questions and payment information required.

I'm still having difficulty understanding how this information will translate into one-time use tickets for those who have purchased tickets to my event.

    Please help!

    Hi Mttapal,

You must first add a Random Value Generator widget, which will generate random numbers for you to use as a ticket number. Next, we will use the Dynamic QR Code widget, which will generate a QR code for the number generated by the Random Value Generator. Let me show you how:

    • Add a Random Value Generator widget and configure it according to your preferences.

    • Next, add a Dynamic QR Code, which will convert the value of the Ticket Number into a QR Code. Then, enter the Field Label of the Random Value Generator into the Field label to Encode.

Then, follow my colleague's instructions to create a new form to use for scanning the QR codes. Make sure to enter the produced Ticket Number into an excel spreadsheet and make it a unique code so that when the QR Code Reader scans the QR, the value is copied into the Spreadsheet to Form widget, allowing you to check if the ticket number is valid. We also have a guide about How to Use the Spreadsheet to Form Widget that you can check out.

That's it! Let us know if you have any other questions.
