    Hi otmbakmigm,

I do not see any reason why a PDF will not attached as you do not have a file upload field where the PDF will not show as an attachment if it exceeds the 5 MB file size limit. When I cloned and tested your form, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:

To troubleshoot, can you please delete the PDF element in your approval workflow and add it again? Why is the result of my PDF submission in the form of a link instead of a PDF file? Image 2 Screenshot 41

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Can you try the following link? https://www.jotform.com/build/210124538534449?iak=36d7f00ec707719574916bb35944dd03-259a5f1ab5242e6d

The result of the PDF attachment is still in the form of a link

    Hi otmbakmigm,

Similar to my colleague, I cloned and tested your form and was unable to replicate the issue. I've also tested it on a new form, and the attachment is coming in as expected. Please check out my screenshot below for my result:

When I checked your approval flow further, it seems that the password set does not meet the required criteria. Could you set it up so that the PDF password meets the required criteria below?

If that has already been completed, try using the Email field with the Attach PDF option. Let me show you how to do that:

    1. In Approval Flow, click on the Email element on the Approval elements menu.
    2. Next, click on its Gear icon, and under the Advanced tab, Enable the Send submissoin PDFs option.
    3. Select your PDF and click Save. Why is the result of my PDF submission in the form of a link instead of a PDF file? Image 3 Screenshot 62

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

The issue you're experiencing where the result of your PDF submission appears as a link instead of a PDF file could be due to several reasons:

    1. **File Size Limitations**: Check if there's a file size limit for PDF attachments set by the system or platform. If the PDF exceeds this limit, it might only provide a download link instead of embedding the file.

    2. **Browser Settings**: Sometimes, browsers or applications might not display PDFs inline and instead provide a download link. Users may need to adjust browser settings or preferences to view PDFs directly.

    3. **System Configuration**: Ensure that the system or application where you're submitting the PDF is configured to handle PDF attachments correctly. This includes checking settings related to file uploads and attachments.

    4. **Permissions**: Verify if there are any permissions or access restrictions in place that prevent PDF files from being displayed inline. Users might need specific permissions to view PDFs directly within the platform.

To resolve this issue, consider adjusting the settings related to PDF attachments, checking file size limits, reviewing browser settings, and ensuring that permissions are correctly configured to allow for inline display of PDF submissions.
