File Upload: Option on shrinking uploaded photo file sizes

    Hi there,

Previously uploaded photos to a form were in the full upload quality and file size (eg 4MB). This was too large for our form data.

Has there been a change where photos uploaded auto shrink down and uploaded then onto the server?

    THanks

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Any files uploaded to your form and submitted are not shrunk down in any way. They are saved as is and Jotform does not apply any post-processing in it. I've also tested this on my end using a new form, and the file I uploaded is the same file that was saved, quality, and file size-wise. Can you try it again and see if you're able to replicate the issue? If so, let us know the link to your affected form a few details and screenshots to the file, and the results of your test.

Keep us updated and let us know how it goes.

    Hi there.
Is there no way to auto shrink the file size as I would like this option.

    Hi Ben,

I understand things much better now. Unfortunately, the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

In the meantime, consider using the File Uploader by Uploadcare widget, which requires a 3rd party software subscription, that allows shrinking of images uploaded. Let me show you where to find that:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element button on the left.
    2. Under the Widgets tab, find the File Uploader by Upload care widget and click it ot add it to your form.
    3. Next, click on its Wand icon to open its Settings, populate its public key and set other options.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
