    Hi,

I'm looking for a way to add calculation fields to a multi-line question. Currently need it for this question with dropdown fields. If this is not currently an option, can I request this get added?

    Hi chrisdockdavis,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you use numeric values in dropdowns, then you can use conditions for calculations. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, go to Multi-line question and click on Add a new field element.
    2. Select Add a Number Field.
    3. Click on Gear icon and go to Fields tab.
    4. Now, click on Gear icon on Dropdown fields and set the numeric value in the Options box.

    5. Go to Settings tab in the orange navigation bar at the top.

    6. Click on Conditions and select Update/Calculate Field condition.

    7. Now, set up your condition and click on Save.

If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more, so I can help you better?

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi. While this is helpful it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

For the dropdown I'm looking for a way to set different calculations than what is selected in the form. Example looking for setting the options with a specific dollar value. The number value does not necessarily relate to the number chosen.

Example: For drop down option "2 Color Front Print" is chosen and "$4" would be the added value I'm trying to calculate from that field. Is there a way to set this, similar to the way values can be set for each option in multi-image fields?

Having the calculation field in the same multi-field box is incredibly helpful though, so I'd love to have a way to utilize that. Below are my current dropdown options. Each print changes the cost of the shirt and is dependent on how many colors are in the front + back design + shirt style from another field.

    Hi chrisdockdavis,

Are you trying to assign calculation values to the dropdown options of the Multi-line Question field just like what can be done in a regular Dropdown field or the Image Choice field? If yes, unfortunately, it is not possible. Please confirm if that's what you're looking for and we'll check if we can escalate it ad a feature request.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help.

Hi Gian. Yes that's exactly what I am looking for. If we're able to put in a feature request, that would be great. Thanks!

    Hi chrisdockdavis,

Thanks for waiting. While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help.
